My Wife / My Land

Yesterday, my wife and I exchanged several serious texts which affected me very strongly.  And as we work through these topics and serious discussions which will affect our, and our children’s future, and all at the same time, continuing with our daily lives and responsibilities, I realized a similar relationship. Our wives and children, and the relationships we have are exactly like our relationship with our world.

Consider taking out the trash.  This is good to do so it doesn’t stay in the house for too long.  Both the wife and the internal environment of the home remains in good standing.  If we recycle, so much the better.  If we reduce the amount of trash we have to take out, so much better for the outside environment.  The world/land is our wife and we the husbands and children of her!

Consider the land as our wife.  Yes, I know we walk on it and drive on it and build small and large buildings on it.  And I probably could make a few puns or jokes on that, but I’ll save that for another time.  She, the wife and land, is very strong and enduring.  And most of all she has the ability for greatness!  I want that for her.  It is extremely difficult to do when there are so many outside influences inflicting damage to our land/wife.  Listen to her.  Really listen to her!  See her.  Really see her!  Really take care of her!  And then let her do what God has for her, and let the yield and beauty be truly wondrous to us all!

If we continue, as we have; to take advantage of all she has to offer, she is very forgiving and will continue to provide and take care of us.  Oh there will be irregular storms and heat waves that will cause disruption to our crop yields and the tension and strain it delivers to our homes and familial well-being.  Children will also bear the brunt of the damage we are passing on to them.  Foods and wisdoms being stripped of the nutritious fulfillment that lead to a domino effect of illness on our future generations.  Sooner, rather than later a change for the better treatment or understanding of our wife is needed.  Or, devastating loss to crop and home life can and will occur.  In many cases already has.

Let’s say you spray the land or toil it for too long and seed it with a less than nutritious harvest, with the intention of producing a good result.  In your mind, it seems like the right thing to do!  And you continue doing it for a long time, because that was the way your father or family or neighbor or government said it should be done… But the yield, nutrition and overall health to the wife diminishes.  Take care of her.  Please!

Raised on a 20 acre farm with all the animals in rural Indiana. I picked up rocks out of farm field before planting season, cooked in a pancake house for a couple years, worked in a factory, joined the Navy, back to the factory then College. I took for granted the simple natural (and unnatural) foods we grew that we raised, and the snacks and cereals we bought. I had a hard working mother I love, even now that she is gone, and a there but not there father. It went by so fast. I sincerely believe we can reintroduce the local farms that sustain and bring together communities. I am looking for sincere individuals to assist me with pursuing my passion to bring a business model to community, prove concept and make it work. Then reeducate the generations.
